Shout out for Inspiration Radio from Labour

A call for support for Inspiration Radio came from Cllr Keith Holland-Delamere at the Cabinet meeting of West Northamptonshire Council.

The community radio station played an important role that would be put at risk by Council plans to sell off their Sheep Street home in Northampton.

 “Inspiration plays an important role in bringing communities together, and also in reaching young people in West Northants, especially in Northampton,” Cllr Holland-Delamere said. “It would be short-sighted and damaging to lose these by selling off the building. Already too many community organisations find themselves under pressure, and the Council needs to look at ways to provide support for the voluntary, not for profit and social enterprise sector.”

The councillor was given assurances after the meeting that the Council would look at ways to protect the radio station.
