NEWS FROM THE LABOUR GROUP

Action on the big issues
More support for families, a crackdown on fly-tipping, action on housing, re-instating free parking concessions in Northampton at weekends, cheap bus travel to get children to school. These are some of the key measures in Labour's budget plans for West Northants for the coming year. There's a full briefing on our plans here. And you can read what Labour group leader Cllr Sally Keeble says here.
Labour launches campaign against damp and mould
Labour has launched a campaign to make sure everyone knows their rights to get damp and mould banned from their homes.
A new law, Awaab's Law, gives rights to council and housing association tenants. Councils and housing associations must take action over damp and mould within strict timescales.
The Labour councillors visited homes in Castle ward in Northampton to speak with residents and deliver leaflets. They'll be visiting other parts of the town in the coming weeks where it's known there are problem with damp and mould.
