Community action with Castle councillors

Castle Ward councillors were out with West Northamptonshire Council officers and the local community for a day of action to clean up their area.

Starting in the Mounts, WNC Cllrs Muna Cali and Enam Haque were out litter-picking, and checking out hotspots for fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour. They were joined by the Northampton Town Cllr Gary Campbell.

It's part of an innovative approach by the WNC to bring in all the agencies needed to clear an area and then build community strategies to build and maintain it.

Castle Ward Cllr Enam Haque said: "This was an excellent initiative that brought together all the agencies needed to improve our area. The response from the community was very positive, and in Castle ward we look forward to building on it for the future."

"Thankyou so much to all the community members and officers from all the agencies who took part in this successful pilot."
