Cllr Bob Purser takes up key council role

Cllr Bob Purser is the new chair of the Adult Social Care and Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

It's a key role that holds the Reform administration to account for its work in providing services for adults with special needs and for older people, as well as scrutinising health services. The aim is to improve services for the public, and also strengthen local democracy and wider involvement in the council's work.

Cllr Purser, who represents Abington and Phippsville ward, is also deputy leader of the Labour Group.

"This is a great honour," says Cllr Purser. "Adult social care is one of the key pressure points for the Council, so I very much welcome leading the scrutiny of it by councillors in West Northants.

" Integration of social care and health services are essential for the public health and well-being: it's an area I am passionate about.
